Nathan R. Smith, Senior Vice President of Government Relations, American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) Originally from Southington, Conn., Nate Smith currently serves as Vice President of Government Relations for the American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA) where he manages ATSSA’s Washington, DC legislative office focusing on federal, state and grassroots advocacy, government relations-related communications, advocacy strategy, and PAC management. Prior to arriving at ATSSA, Smith was a lobbyist for the National Court Reporters Association, a congressional intern for former U.S. Rep. Tom Allen of Maine, and participated extensively on the John Kerry for President campaign in New Hampshire.
Active with the American Society of Association Executives, Smith serves as Chair of the ASAE Public Policy Committee, past chair of the ASAE Fly-In Task Force, and a member of the ASAE PAC Committee. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Irish American Democrats Political Action Committee. An honors graduate of the University of New Hampshire, Smith holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and International Affairs and a minor in Spanish. He lives on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC with his wife, Brittney.
